If you had an underage daughter who was raped, wouldn’t you want the situation investigated to the fullest extent so that your daughter (or someone else’s daughter) wasn’t put in a similar situation by a predator?
Wouldn’t you expect a so-called “women’s health care provider” to do everything possible to report and to assist in any underage rape investigations it uncovered? (read more…)
Last week, Alliance Defending Freedom released a comprehensive report, in which it “catalogs multiple instances of Planned Parenthood performing abortions on sexually abused minors and failing to report the rapes to authorities as required by law.” ADF reports on a number of these incidents occurring in Alabama, California, Colorado, Connecticut, Minnesota, and Ohio.
Featured in ADF’s report is the recent case of accused serial-rapist Tyler Kost, an 18-year old man in Pinal County, Arizona. After this case made headlines last year, our team along with other state and national pro-life leaders rallied in front of the Tempe Planned Parenthood to demand justice and protection for our daughters.
If you remember, police reports allege that one of Tyler Kost’s alleged victims was told by a Planned Parenthood counselor that reporting the rape to authorities wasn’t worth the “hassle.” The timeline from the indictment suggests that from the time Planned Parenthood intentionally did not report the rape on January 4, 2014, three other girls were raped and Kost sexually assaulted one other before he was arrested in May 2014.
How terrifying and tragic. And Planned Parenthood, an organization that has received millions of taxpayer dollars every year and has promoted itself as a safe place for women, could have – and should have – done something to prevent future harm from occurring to those innocent girls.
As ADF’s report repeatedly highlights from incidents all around this country, Planned Parenthood has a pattern of covering up sexual assaults, while allowing sexual predators to remain embedded in our communities to victimize unsuspecting girls.
As the ADF report and the Center for Medical Progress videos reveal repeatedly, Planned Parenthood is not to be entrusted with any health care of our daughters or any women in need.
The abortion lobby alleges that women’s health care would be devastated if Planned Parenthood’s federal taxpayer funding was denied, but the truth couldn’t be further from those claims. The fact is that Planned Parenthood has just 10 clinics in Arizona compared to 183 other federally qualified health centers and rural health clinics around the state that can provide necessary health care services for women. It’s very clear that Planned Parenthood needs women so much more than women need Planned Parenthood.
As many have noted, the character of our country is at stake. May America wake up to the horrific practices of Planned Parenthood.
