Our President Speaks on His Christianity
(February 3, 2011)

After hearing and seeing so much anti-Christian rhetoric regarding our President, I read with great interest his recent message at the National Prayer Breakfast on February 3.  Here are some highlights from his enlightening talk on his Cristianity.

My Christian faith then has been a sustaining force for me over these last few years. All the more so, when Michelle and I hear our faith questioned from time to time, we are reminded that ultimately what matters is not what other people say about us but whether we're being true to our conscience and true to our God. “Seek first His kingdom and His righteousness and all these things will be given to you as well."
[...]
But while I petition God for a whole range of things, there are a few common themes that do recur. The first category of prayer comes out of the urgency of the Old Testament prophets and the Gospel itself. I pray for my ability to help those who are struggling. Christian tradition teaches that one day the world will be turned right side up and everything will return as it should be. But until that day, we're called to work on behalf of a God that chose justice and mercy and compassion to the most vulnerable.
[...]
So my prayer this morning is that we might seek His face not only in those moments, but each and every day; that every day as we go through the hustle and bustle of our lives, whether it’s in Washington or Hollywood or anywhere in between, that we might every so often rise above the here and now, and kneel before the Eternal; that we might remember [ ...] the fact that those who wait on the Lord will soar on wings like eagles, and they will run and not be weary, and they will walk and not faint.

When I wake in the morning, I wait on the Lord, and I ask Him to give me the strength to do right by our country and its people.  And when I go to bed at night I wait on the Lord, and I ask Him to forgive me my sins, and look after my family and the American people, and make me an instrument of His will.

I say these prayers hoping they will be answered, and I say these prayers knowing that I must work and must sacrifice and must serve to see them answered.  But I also say these prayers knowing that the act of prayer itself is a source of strength.  It’s a reminder that our time on Earth is not just about us; that when we open ourselves to the possibility that God might have a larger purpose for our lives, there’s a chance that somehow, in ways that we may never fully know, God will use us well.

May the Lord bless you and keep you, and may He bless this country that we love.

-President Barack Obama

The Battle Against Our Constitution
(Hal Lindsey - July 1, 2011)

As we prepare to celebrate Independence Day 2011, I am saddened and alarmed by the increasing number of Americans who are anti-God, anti-Christian, and anti-Constitution. Even TIME magazine questions whether the U.S. Constitution really matters.

I'm also greatly concerned about whether there are enough dedicated and bold Christians left in America to stand up and fight for the unprecedented freedoms that have been handed down to us by our God-fearing forefathers. Why are there so few defenders willing to proclaim what is right with our nation and our heritage? No man or state is perfect, but what other nation has provided more freedom for more people the world over than the United States of America? What other nation has provided such opportunity for its citizens to pursue their dreams? What other nation is always first to rush to the aid of people in all parts of the globe who have suffered catastrophe? The answer is none.

I firmly believe that if we don't wake up and begin to take our responsibilities as citizens seriously, then soon we may have few liberties left for which to be thankful.

I believe that one of the greatest roadblocks to the ascension of a one-world government thus far has been the United States. And the one American institution that has guaranteed this restraint is our extraordinary Constitution. I believe God had a hand in the development of this document, in part, to inhibit the rise of a global government.

But the battle against the Constitution is in full fury now. As we near the conclusion of the "time of the gentiles," I feel America must decline in global significance. That cannot happen until our Constitution, and thus our individual rights and freedoms, are severely curtailed by our enemies, foreign and domestic.

We are seeing that happen daily in a relentless and determined manner. And I believe that many Americans don't recognize the danger because they don't appreciate the value of that document. And I don't believe we can truly understand and appreciate its value until we know something about the beliefs and philosophies of the men who drafted it. I'm going to examine the thoughts of some of those men this week.

...as we celebrate our national independence and individual freedoms this Fourth of July, I want to point out that, as great as those blessings are, there is a freedom that is greater still. That is the freedom from sin and eternal separation from God that Jesus Christ purchased with His death on Calvary. There's no better time to accept the free gift of pardon His sacrifice secured for you. Then you can truly celebrate this year the greatest freedom of them all.

Lawlessness and the U.S. Government
(Hal Lindsey - October 21, 2011)

We Americans have been blessed to live our lives in this Republic that is founded on laws, not the whims of men. This "society of laws" is guaranteed by our Constitution, perhaps one of history's grandest, most unique documents.

But we are witnessing a continuous erosion of the rights and liberties guaranteed by the Constitution. As our leaders display less regard for the authority of the founding document, our society suffers.

This administration has shown that it values its own ideology above the US Constitution. Charged with upholding the nation's laws, it has willfully refused to enforce or defend those laws on more than one occasion. Attorney General Eric Holder refused to defend the "Defense of Marriage Act," refused to prosecute the New Black Panthers for blatant voter intimidation, and turned a blind eye to "Operation Fast and Furious."

The administration refuses to enforce existing immigration law and sued those states who did. It illegally engaged in military adventures without the concurrence of Congress. It charged in to bail out corporations, took ownership stakes, and saw to it that its union cronies were rewarded before secured creditors. It even forcibly passed an omnibus healthcare program that broke all convention to force all citizens to purchase a product -- legislation that will almost certainly be declared unconstitutional next year.

It has consistently circumvented the other branches of the federal government by taking actions administratively that have been forbidden by the courts or the Congress. And those are just some of the things we know about!

So, if the very ones charged by the Constitution with upholding the law are themselves engaged in lawlessness, what does that portend for the rest of our society? And for our future?

The latest example of the administration's refusal to uphold the law involves the State Department. US law requires that the place of birth for any US citizen born in Jerusalem be listed in his or her passport as "Jerusalem, Israel." The State Department, which issues American passports, ignores that law and, instead, lists the place of birth as simply "Jerusalem." No mention of Israel.

Could the motive be any more obvious? The Muslims and Palestinians do not want Jerusalem to be identified as part of Israel. And since the administration is obsessed with pleasing the Muslims and Palestinians, but couldn't care less about what the Jews and Israelis want, they refuse to obey the law. Not only does this demonstrate a disdain for our entire system of law, but it illustrates the administration's anti-Israel bias.

The Supreme Court has now agreed to hear a case involving this issue. As a result, Secretary of State Hillary Clinton now has to defend her refusal to uphold a law that she voted FOR when she was a senator from New York.

The Bible predicts that between man's "sin nature" and Satan's desire to "kill and destroy" God's creation, lawlessness will one day engulf the world. In fact, it predicts that the world will be completely controlled by a person it describes precisely as the "lawless one" -- the Antichrist. The only thing that prevents that from happening today is the presence in the world of the "restrainer of lawlessness" -- the Holy Spirit.

But someday soon, God the Father will decide that the world has finally chosen "lawlessness" and He will remove the Restrainer. And since the Restrainer indwells all true believers, that means He can only be removed if WE are removed from this earth. That's what we refer to as "the Rapture." Don't miss that escape. Trust me, you do not want to be on this earth when lawlessness reigns.

End of the Earth (Revisited)
(Hal Lindsey - December 2 , 2011)

As we near the end of 2011, lots of viewers are also writing in to ask about the various and sundry 2012 doomsday predictions. Many want to know about the Mayan calendar, Planet X or Planet Nibiru, Comet Elenin, Edgar Cayce, Nostradamus, and so forth. I've addressed this subject a few times before on the program.

Opinion about the Mayan calendar is split. Some experts believe the fact that it abruptly ends in what translates to 2012 indicates that there will be a positive physical or spiritual transformation of the earth next year. Others -- especially Hollywood and the popular culture -- prefer the other theory: the world will literally, physically, and, apparently, very violently end on December 21, 2012.

The Planet X believers also promote a traumatic physical-destruction-of-the-earth theory. Planet X, or Nibiru, is supposedly four times larger than the earth and is headed on a collision or near-miss course with our globe next year. Obviously, if it collides with us, we're goners. If it passes near us, its size and gravitational pull on the earth will make us wish we were goners. Neither is a pretty picture.

(Just a marginal note for those who have never heard of Planet X. We "know" about it because a woman started a website in 1995 to reveal its existence. She "knew" about it because some alien visitors to earth had implanted a communications device in her brain so they could keep her posted about its arrival. Oddly, no reputable astronomers have been able to locate it in the universe. The ones who claim to have found it say that it's "hidden" behind other planets and will become visible as it gets closer to earth. Unbelievably, Planet X has gathered quite a following here on this planet!)

Obviously, I believe that neither will happen. That's because I believe the Bible's version of what's to come on the earth. And it does not entail the imminent destruction of the universe or the disappearance of our planet. And why do I believe the Bible's version? Because EVERYTHING predicted by God's prophets in the past has come true with amazing precision. If they've been 100% right so far, why should I believe they'll be wrong now?

UAV Aprehended
(Hal Lindsey - December 16, 2011)

Last week, the Pentagon announced that one of its high-tech, high-value stealth unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV) had disappeared in Afghanistan on December 4. The presumption was that it had crashed.

However, a few days later, the RQ-170 Sentinel drone showed up intact - on Iranian television.

The Iranians said they had snatched control of the UAV away from its American pilot (probably operating the craft from a facility in Nevada) and safely landed it in Iran. Observers are debating that assertion. Some think it crashed in Afghanistan and was recovered and transported to Iran by the Taliban. Others say that Russia and/or China gave Iran the technology to seize control of the aircraft.

The bottom line, though, is that the Iranians now have our most valuable stealth technology, and we have only their word for how they got it.

President Obama asked Iran to return the drone. Not surprisingly, the Iranians refused. The White House decided not to try to recover it or destroy it for fear of escalating tensions with Iran. Apparently the President prefers a more relaxed relationship even if Iran knows our secrets!

But not just Iran. Already, teams of experts from Russia and China are in Iran taking a look at the UAV. They're drooling to get their hands on the technology. That puts the Iranians in the driver's seat. They've already let it be known that the drone is available to the highest bidder, but the starting bid needs to include advanced uranium enrichment centrifuges, solid-fuel missile technology, and the Russian S-300 anti-aircraft and anti-missile defense system.

Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.
(Matthew 28:19-20, NIV)

It is about what Jesus Christ purchased for you on the cross..

He came into the very world he created, but the world didn’t recognize him. He came to his own people, and even they rejected him. But to all who believed him and accepted him, he gave the right to become children of God. They are reborn—not with a physical birth resulting from human passion or plan, but a birth that comes from God.
(John1:10-13, NIV)

We ask only that you establish a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.

Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and dine with him, and he with Me.
(Revelation 3:20, NKJV)
